Alya Esipovich was born in Leningrad, graduated from the State University of Arts and Culture majoring in Cultural Studies and Art-expertise. Attended the photographic authors course of American photographer Deborah Turbeville and participated in the joint exhibition in the State Museum of History of Saint-Petersburg in 2002.

Alya Esipovich is the prize-winner of the competition “Se-Zam 2002” for the series “Portraits” in “SPBSobaka.ru” periodical where she was the head of the photo department in 2000-2004.
