Sisustussuunnittelija Tom Gustafsson on stailannut Rauman taidemuseon remonttia kipeästi kaipaavaan aulaan väliaikaisen kahvila- ja oleskelupaikan, jossa museokävijät voivat nauttia kupin kahvia, lueskella, kuunnella musiikkia ja tutustua aulassa olevaan videoteokseen. Tila kutsuu pysähtymään ja istahtamaan hetkeksi. Kahvilatilan lähtökohtana on ollut viihtyminen ja aulan ehdoilla toimiva suunnittelu. Gustafsson käyttää tilassa suomalaisten muotoilijoiden jo klassikoiksi muodostuneita huonekaluja, mutta myös muuta uusiokäytössä olevaa kierrätys- tai retromateriaalia. Design ei Gustafssonin mukaan ole itseisarvo vaan suunnittelun on tapahduttava ihmisten ja arkisten asioiden ehdoilla. Aina tietysti pitää olla tilaa myös yllätyksille ja pienille ihmeille. Gustafsson on raumalaislähtöinen sisustussuunnittelija, joka asuu tällä hetkellä Helsingissä ja Reposaaressa. Gustafsson on tehnyt tilasuunnitelmia vuodesta 1997.	At the Rauma Art Museum interior designer Tom Gustafsson has styled the lobby, much in need of renovation, into a temporary café and lounging area, where visitors can enjoy a cup of coffee, read, listen to music and watch a video work located in the lobby. The space invites visitors to pause and sit down for a moment. The starting point for the café was comfort and design functioning on the terms of the lobby. In this space, Gustafsson employs furniture by Finnish designers that have already become classics, along with recycled or other retro materials in new use. Gustafsson does not feel that design is a value unto itself. Instead, it should proceed upon the terms of people and everyday matters. Of course there must always be room also for surprises and minor miracles. Originally from Rauma, Tom Gustafsson is an interior designer currently living in Helsinki and Reposaari. He has been involved with spatial design since 1997.
